Scott Boyarsky Scott Boyarsky, Vice President, Digital home Products, Comcast

After successfully leading the Video and Entertainment Product teams for Comcast, Scott Boyarsky accepted a new role within Comcast, leading the Digital Home product org. Scott is responsible for end-to-end product management of the Xfinity Home and xFi "Smart Internet" product lines. His team is launching new consumer products in Smart Home, IOT, WiFi, Automation, AI, WiFi and Home Security. Formerly, Scott Boyarsky served as Vice President of Video and Entertainment Products at Comcast and was responsible for innovative and interactive experiences across Comcast’s video and entertainment portfolio, including the Xfinity X1 Platform, XfinityTV, voice UX, and X1 Sports App. Prior to his role at Comcast, Scott served as SVP of Technology for CNBC, part of Comcast NBC Universal. He was responsible for leading Technology, Product Development, User Experience and Design teams behind CNBC Digital and on-air products, including cnbc.com, CNBC iOS and Android apps, CNBC Pro - integrated desktop/mobile service, TV Everywhere, digital video and syndication services, as well as identifying new emerging platforms and product opportunities for the network.


Bernd Grohmann Bernd Grohmann, Executive Vice President, eQ-3 AG

Bernd Grohmann is Executive Vice President (Vorstand) and CTO at eQ-3 AG, responsible for the OEM plus international business and Corporate Development for the group. According to industry analysts, eQ-3 is the European Smart Home market leader based on the installed base of whole home solutions and a Pioneer with IPv6 based Smart Home products. Grohmann is a profound expert of the Smart Home and IoT market plus technology. Before joining eQ-3 AG, Grohmann was Vice President Product Marketing at Zensys, the original maker of Z-Wave, where he was responsible for the Z-Wave alliance in its early days. At Danish industry group Danfoss A/S, Grohmann was leading the Communication Technology Center, a think tank supporting all 26 business divisions. In addition, he greatly contributed to the standardization work, e.g. within IEEE802.15.4, as a Working Group Chair in the ZigBee alliance and as one of the initiators of the 6LoWPAN initiative of IETF.

Jim Hunter is the Chief Scientist and Technology Evangelist of Greenwave Systems. He is responsible for oversight of technology, architecture and innovation of the AXON Platform®. As Technology Evangelist, Jim promotes the Greenwave platform and technology message through industry engagement. Prior to joining Greenwave Systems, Jim led Motorola Mobility's (a division of Google) architecture and strategy for driving the future of the smart, simple, connected home. During this time, Jim invented several key patents and served on several patent boards mentoring other inventors. In December 2010, Jim joined Motorola Mobility through the acquisition of 4Home, a company he founded and served as CTO and Chief Architect. Earlier in his career, Jim founded Premise Systems, the first IP-based connected home platform company, which was acquired by Motorola in 2003. Jim's specialties include Software Architecture, User Interface Design and Development and Intellectual Property Development. Jim is a passionate inventor and futurist, inventing a number of patents across a broad spectrum, including data algorithms, user interaction, contextual data and device management. Prior to the advent of the connected home, Jim served in the US Navy as a Nuclear Engineer and Nuclear Certified Instructor.

For over 25 years, Alton Martin has been a globally-recognized expert in defining performance standards & metrics within service operations. In July 2013, he co-founded Trusource Labs, a contact center focused on supporting products and services that are complex, risky, or both. In four years, the company has grown rapidly to over 500 employees worldwide and has supported over 20 leading-edge Smart Home companies. Prior to founding Trusource Labs, he helped launch COPC Inc., a leading contact center consultancy and training organization. He led their international expansion initiatives, as well as the development of the COPC-2000 Vendor Management Organization Standard. He served as CEO until June 2009, when he started another consultancy firm focused on applying Vested Outsourcing techniques in outsourced service operations. He has worked with a number of leading organizations throughout his career, including Accenture, American Express, Apple, CapitalOne, Convergys, Dell, DirecTV, Microsoft and others in over 40 countries.


Tony Mauro Tony Mauro, Chief Technology Officer, Plasmatic Technologies Inc.

Tony leads the architecture and engineering efforts at Plasmatic Technologies, including the development of the Alana connected home system and device family. As an experienced systems engineer with a dual specialization in electronics and energy systems, Tony has led multi disciplinary teams working on a range of projects, from enterprise technology improvement initiatives to consumer device product and technology development. As an active champion within standards groups Tony’s focus is on making technology easier for consumers. Earlier in his career, during his tenure as a service architect and lead engineer at TELUS, one of Canada’s leading telecommunications companies, Tony was directly involved in the emerging Future Friendly Home initiative, with a focus on Home Control and Connectivity, as well as Wireless Data. More recently at Powertech Labs, Tony played an instrumental role in building out a Smart Energy practice, and helped the organization understand the intersections among large power systems, connected devices, and consumer needs. Tony loves finding ways to make his home more automated and adapted to his needs. When he is not riding his bike or taking his daughter to dance recitals, he can usually be found in the midst of a home renovation project or two.


Matthias Mieves Matthias Mieves, Head of New Business, Sales & Marketing Connected Home, Deutsche Telekom AG

In 2016, Matthias Mieves became Head of New Business, Sales and Marketing for White Label Smart Home portfolio at Deutsche Telekom. He is responsible for the further development of Connected Home business and for driving the growth of Deutsche Telekom's smart home business, both in B2B and B2C markets. Since joining Deutsche Telekom in 2010, Matthias Mieves has worked on different business development projects. He has a deep understanding for cross-functional teams, product development and transformational programs. 


Todd Mozer Todd Mozer, CEO, Sensory

Todd Mozer is President and CEO of Sensory, which has played a pioneering role in bringing speech recognition into consumer products over the past 20 years. Sensory has enabled hundreds of products with speech recognition by companies such as Ecobee, Huawei, Garmin, GoPro, Motorola, Plantronics, Samsung, Sony, and many, many others. Mr. Mozer hold over 20 patents issued in speech technology and related fields, and holds an MBA from Stanford University.


Tobin Richardson Tobin Richardson, President & CEO, Zigbee Alliance

Tobin Richardson serves as President and CEO of the Zigbee Alliance, leading the Alliance's efforts to develop and promote world-leading open, global standards for the Internet of Things. Tobin works closely with the Alliance Board of Directors to set strategy and to advance the adoption of Alliance standards around the globe, including Zigbee, Dotdot, Smart Energy and several other IoT standards essential to interoperability for consumers in smart homes, smart buildings, and smart cities. Tobin has more than two decades of experience in guiding technology, product and organizational strategy and development, from Fortune 500 to large government bodies focused on transformational change. 


Jeremy Warren Jeremy Warren, Chief Technology Officer, Vivint Smart Home

Jeremy Warren Chief Technology Officer As Chief Technology Officer at Vivint Smart Home, Jeremy drives growth and business opportunities and oversees the creation of new products and services. He works closely with the entire innovation team to create the structures and processes necessary to analyze new business ideas and allocate resources for their development. Before joining Vivint, Jeremy was the Chief Technology Officer at 2GIG Technologies, a pioneer in innovative security and smart home technology. There he led the engineering for the first home automation platform for the mass market. Prior to 2GIG, Jeremy was the Chief Technology Officer of the U.S. Department of Justice, where his responsibilities included formulating the Department's technology strategy, providing technology expertise in program oversight, performing research, and coordinating all aspects of the Department's technical architecture. Jeremy was also the Chief Architect of Lavastorm Technologies, where he focused on rules-based processing systems, data mining, and statistical analysis. Jeremy studied Computer Science Engineering at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.


Richard Wolpert Richard Wolpert, Co-Founder & CEO, HelloTech

Richard Wolpert, a veteran entrepreneur and a pioneer in the fields of consumer technology, digital media and entertainment, has over 30 years of extensive experience as an executive and as an investor. Wolpert holds an impressive and highly diverse career having worked for companies such as Apple as an early software engineer alongside Steve Jobs and for Walt Disney as the President of Disney Online. He's also launched a series of innovative startups such as AudioMill and After Hours Software, both of which were successfully acquired. Wolpert is currently co-founder and CEO of HelloTech, an on-demand, in-home tech support service company that is changing the way consumers get help with their tech devices. Tom leads Parks Associates research in the areas of home controls, energy management, and home networks. Tom authors numerous reports on energy management and home controls covering the evolution of technology, partnership opportunities, and new business models. Tom’s work at Parks Associates includes managing consumer surveys that track trends and market opportunities and enable insightful evidence-based forecasting for energy, security, and home controls. Tom speaks frequently at key industry events, and his views are sought out by national press organizations and publications.

Tom has done extensive consulting with electric utilities operating in a variety of regulator structures and numerous firms within the smart home ecosystem. Recent utility engagements include defining the home area network roadmap for a California IOU, updating the consumer engagement strategy for a traditional vertically integrated IOU, providing consumer and industry analysis to refine EE and DR programs for an IOU in a restructured market, and providing insights on the evolution of the connected home for a large Midwest IOU. Tom has also led projects for many Fortune 500 companies, helping clients refine smart home strategies, develop scenarios of the future of the smart home market, enhance product roadmaps, and refine specific product features.

Prior to working at Parks Associates, Tom worked as director of engineering and director of product management in multiple industries. Tom began his career in the U.S. Navy nuclear power program on submarines. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the U.S. Naval Academy in systems engineering and a master's in software engineering from the University of Texas.
